KETTUVALLAM

 

Kettuvallams are huge ric

e boats.  Step aboard and you step back in history.  Kettuvallam rides are a delight for exploring the backwaters at a leisurely pace with the tune and rhythms of the gentle rivers.  They are well furnished and have all modern amenities.

TRADITIONAL ARTS

 

Local rituals, cult practices, socio-religious and martial dances are common to Kerala.  In these dance forms the entire body is sued to portray emotions.

Mohiniyattom, (the dance of the celestial temptress) is a sensous and seductive dance and speaks a universal language – emotions.

MUNNAR

 

Munnar is a nature lover’s paradise.  Set in the lofty greenery and serenity of Kannan Devan hills at an altitude of averalge 1700 ft and 136 kms from Cochin.

Exotic make-up, colourful costumes and a thousand emotuions rendered through facial expressions.  The folk arts of Kerala are unique.  All glorifying the goddess of art.

TEMPLES OF KERALA

 

Many of the temples of Kerala are dedicated to goddess Bhagavathi.  Most temples have a special area or sacred grove for sanke worship.  The temples are built according to Tatchushastra – an ancient science of architecture.

THEKKADY - PERIYAR WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

 

The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Thekkady, one of India’s leading sanctuaries.  At Periyar, you can witness wildlife.  You can spot Bison, Sambar bear, Elephant, Spotted deer etc.

VALLAMKALI

 

They are great boat pageants and races in celebration of Onam.  The famous boat races are held in the backwaters of Alleppey.

 

 

WATERFALLS - VAZHACHAL & ATHIRAPALLY

 

This scintillating waterfall in the Chalakudy river is set in thick green forests.  There is also an Amusement park on the way to Athirappally.
